006 — AI as an Amplifier I had an interesting conversation with a colleague of mine, and he pointed out that a lot of marketing and copy and graphics and all that sort of stuff has become incredibly generic because of AI. Those are probably two of its biggest use cases right now. People have become allergic to it. They’re hypersensitive to AI slop. At the end of the day, the majority of the population, myself perhaps included, are using AI on the most surface level imaginable. The truth is, mediocre people are still mediocre. Incompetent people are still incompetent. They just have a new shiny tool to produce even more mediocrity. AI is just another tool. The people who really want to produce excellent work are able to use it in a way that amplifies the character traits that were already there. If you’re lazy, AI amplifies that. If you’re excellent, it amplifies that too. New boots, same old song.
