The more and more I use AI, at least for my use case, sometimes I feel like I’m getting too reliant on it for affirmation on my thinking. It feels like I’m losing judgment. Or if not losing judgment, then it feels like I’m slowly losing the ability to judge a piece of work without it. It’s both a positive and a negative. A lot of the time, when something is submitted to me, it’s very clearly not thought out well. And when I feed it into AI, it can spitball something very fast. But the downside is that I feel like I’m becoming over-reliant on it for my thinking process. Or maybe even getting dumber in some respects. It makes everything more efficient. But at the same time, it can only draw on the past, so judgment becomes weird. Not to mention the fact that most AI, or a lot of AI, seems coded to affirm what you want, even when you try quite hard to make it fight you or debate you. At the same time, though, it’s useful as a sharpening stick. So am I getting dumber, or is it just my imagination? I think the main thing is this: because it can only draw on the past, is it limiting my judgment and creativity?
